Visitor data
- The encyclopedia is a read-only site:
- It has no accounts and no login.
- And no forms that collect data.
- We measure the number of visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics. Cloudflare says the tool does not use cookies, does not collect personal data, and does not track the visitor across sites.
- What we see is aggregate figures only: the number of visits, the most-read pages, countries, sources of visits, and types of browsers and devices.
- The encyclopedia has no advertising, and no third-party tracking tools.
- Fonts and images are stored on our own site, so your browser does not contact other sites to display them.
Hosting providers
- Cloudflare serves the site to visitors. Like any server, it processes technical data such as the device's address and browser type, to deliver pages and protect the site from attacks. This is governed by Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
- GitHub keeps the site's source and edit history. Visitors only pass through it if they open the repository. This is governed by GitHub's Privacy Statement.
- Visit data stays with the hosting providers. We only have access to aggregate figures.
Correspondence
- If you write to us by email, we use your message only to reply to it and to process the correction or request.
- We do not share your address with any party.
- Removal requests and replies are kept in a record, in which the requester's personal data are not published. See Complaints, Takedown and Right of Reply.
Living persons in entries
- We write about a person only what relates to their public work in artificial intelligence.
- We do not publish personal information, such as residence, family, and health. We do not publish a date of birth unless the person has published it themselves.
- Information that affects a person's reputation requires a primary source or an independent, peer-reviewed one.
- Images of living persons are openly licensed, and only in a public or professional setting. See the Images and Logos Policy.
- If you believe an entry or image affects you unjustly, see Complaints, Takedown and Right of Reply.
